Commercial object of furniture showroom is located on the outskirts of the city of Bar. Though not in direct contact to
the sea, the ambience of this commercial space has a dominant casualness specic for contemporary and
Mediterranean buildings, which are by the features accessible and open to customers.
Building structure is able to generate extraordinary possibilities of catching views from the surrounding. On the
other hand, object is formed as an attractive monochromatic inner space full of shadows and shades, in which
concepts of verticality and depth play an essential role. The criteria that have guided and inspired the construction
is idea of a building as physical topography. In that way we came to the basic concepts of object: duality. The
building always refers to that otherness. When someone is outside, it underscores the internal spatial settings, but
when you are inside it frames a view on the surroundings introducing it as a dominant element in the interior.
The object is the exhibition space of furniture stores, Camerich furniture showroom. This is a three level object with
interior stairways that covers an area of 1.500 square meters.
The building was decomposed in a system of walls arranged in various angles that direct space and emphasize the
dominant viewpoints. By this decomposition of objects we break down the dominant volume of the building and set up a
space articulated in a variety of directions. In this way, the object is trying to paraphrase the remains of domestic
building tradition of fortications, which are used to be built in this area, in robust natural materials such as soil
and rock. Choices of natural, bare materials like concrete and rusty steel are also an attempt to turn the building
into a built expression of traditional ramparts in earth and stone. Stable form of concrete walls articulate the space,
while only a glass facade membrane denes the transition from the outside to inside, by giving architectural space
the vibrant character. Interior is almost monolithic, the dominant concrete walls and columns produced the large
volume of monochrome space. That corresponds to the intended purpose of a furniture showroom that is suitable for
various options of commercial arrangements.
